Vibrant, fun, passionate...that's me! When paint hits the canvas, you are seeing genuine energy that comes from the freedom to express my moments. My art is a direct link to my genuine self, me being me. I only paint when I'm truly able to let you see the inner me, creating real and unique art. It's my gift to you.
So…WHY do I paint? As a teen I was pretty shy, reserved. At times, I felt not seen amongst my peers. I loved to sing and act, but felt scared and like I wasn’t good enough to put myself forward, especially when I compared myself to my school mates. But now is my time! I would love nothing more than to be appreciated for my happy, fun personality and delight with the art I am creating.
Abstract expressionism best describes my style and living on the glorious Mornington Peninsula, I am so lucky to be surrounded by so many awe inspiring facets of nature. I’m also inspired by life and people…they can both be so fascinating! Music makes my heart sing and is a huge part of every piece, as seen in the marks I make. I totally love to put on my favourite songs and paint like nobody’s watching.
I love adding detail and texture in my works using acrylic paints and heavy bodied mediums. Doing this creates substance to my art and allows me to ‘build momentum’ and energy in the design. Interiors, design and decorating have always been a big part of my life, with art being the ‘icing on the cake’ adding the finishing touch to your space.
Work includes collaboration with Interior Designers, stylists and boutiques. So let me fill your walls with joy, so you can feel what I feel..

Artist Bio
Vanessa is a Mornington Peninsula based, abstract expressionist, who’s penchant is for acrylic paints on canvas, but also leans towards mixed media with use of impasto, spray and oil stick. She is a self taught artist, who has always had a creative drive, thanking her parents for immersion in many artistic experiences since childhood. Vanessa’s ‘Joie de Vivre’ is evident in all her artworks, as she strives to share beauty, while evoking a passionate response. Her message is one of strength, resilience and boldly embracing life.
Vanessa is a finalist in the Art To Art Unearthed Art Prize, 2022 and 2024, and winner Yogat Art Prize, 2022. She regularly attends many of the local art shows and exhibited ‘In The Moment’ at 26 Advantage Gallery, Highett Sept ‘22.
Vanessa is represented by The Toowoomba Gallery, QLD and Greenhouse Interiors, VIC. She is currently working on a new collection, embracing her love of feminine abstract botanicals merged with abstraction.
